Seattle | Downtown

We are now open for dinner 7 days a week!
Sun - Thu from 4pm - 9pm and Fri & Sat from 4pm - 9:30pm

Wild Ginger has been a staple in the Seattle food scene since 1989. Our original location was a tiny place on Western Avenue, but in the year 2000 we made the move to the historic Mann building in downtown Seattle. You can find us on the corner of 3rd and Union, across the street from Benaroya Hall and only a few blocks from Seattle landmarks such as Pike Place Market and The Washington State Convention Center.

The incredible architecture and masonry of the space create an extraordinary backdrop for the modern, yet traditional feel of the restaurant. Intimate booths, private dining rooms, casual lounge seating and a signature satay bar create a variety of dining options for our guests.

Whether you’re looking for an ideal group dining spot or somewhere to enjoy a quick power lunch, grab a cocktail with friends after work, or celebrate a milestone, Wild Ginger is the perfect choice.

Below are just a few of the many people who keep everything running smoothly at our Downtown Seattle location.

Dimuthu Senarathne

Chef de cuisine

When did you start with the company?
2018

What’s the best part of your job?
There is nothing that can match the buzz that working in kitchen gives you. The opportunities that can present themselves are many.

What’s your favorite memory involving food?
Cooking with my grandfather at his little farmhouse in the rural northeast part of Sri Lanka. We used only the ingredients collected from his garden. This is absolutely one of my favorite food memories to this day. Sometimes it's not only the food, it's also the memory of the people that we cherish.

What’s your favorite thing about Seattle?
The weather…. especially the rain…. I love Seattle rain!

What’s the best piece of advice given to you that you want to share with others?
Stop trying to calm the storm. Calm yourself and the storm will pass.
